What Is Methinks
Methinks is a mobile application that provides you with the opportunity to share your opinion and feedback with companies who need them to better their products and services.
And in return, you get paid for your time and effort.
Methinks was founded on the 26th of December 2016 by Philip Yun and Wilson Li who started out developing video chat tools for their clients to gain insight from their customers for their video startups.
But over time Methinks has grown to become a self-serving qualitative market research platform that it is today.
They claim to have successfully worked with notable brands like Verizon, LG, Samsung, Nexon, Vevo, Super Mega Corp, etc.
How Does Methinks Work
Download The App
To get started with Methinks you will need to download and install its application on either iOS Or Android phone
Then you signup with your email, Facebook or Google account
Once done, you will need to fill in your profile (demographic info) before you can have access to Gigs.
Note that aside from your core profile, there are other sections of profiling questions that you have the option to complete.
The more of these profiling questions you complete the better chances you will have to qualify for more gigs.
For example, you have the Lifestyle, shopping, sections that when completed can help researchers looking for people in that category to get in touch with you but if not completed then it won’t be seen as an interest of yours which means you won’t be getting any gigs in that section.
By the way, gigs are the terms used for the Projects that you want to participate in, while you the participant is referred to as a Thinker.
Apply For Gigs
Once you have completed your core profile you will have access to the Gigs dashboard, where you have different kinds of projects available.
Each Gig comes with a description of what it requires, how much you will be paid and the time it would take to complete it.
So all you need to do is look for the ones you think you fit into and apply for them and if accepted then you complete the gig.
For every gig you complete, the amount will be credited in your account and you get paid on a weekly basis ( Fridays). There is no payment threshold so no limit to the amount you can cash out.
Ways To Make Money With Methinks
Methinks offers various ways for their Thinkers to make money with different projects and it includes the following:
Live Video Chats
some gig allows you to participate in live video chats directly with business owners or researcher and get paid at the end of the session.
Face To Face Interview
participate in face to face interview to share your opinions and feedback on products to get paid.
There are also short and easy surveys that you can complete to earn money.
Get paid to test brand new websites, apps and products before they become available to the public.
participate in multi-day studies and get paid.
Methinks provides you with the opportunity to invite other people and get paid. Once someone signs up and completes a gig, you both receive a bonus at the value of 50% of their first gig’s compensation.
I must say that in our time of using and researching apps, methinks comes out as one of the best we’ve seen so far with very little complaint.
They have mostly positive reviews from their users and the only complaint so far is about not having available gigs.
Some people have spent months after registration but still haven’t gotten any gig, while some have engaged in at least one or two.
But I believe this is very understandable since Researchers require a specific quality in the people they need for their research and not everyone will fit into this.
Secondly, demands may be high so that even if you qualify, you may not still get the job once they reach their quota.
I am just glad there are no complaints like an account being shut down for no reason or a payment not made for no reason because these are the kind of complaint to look for when deciding if a program is legit and worthwhile or not.
So far Methinks hasn’t displayed any suspicious characteristics and we feel it’s only normal to have this kind of complaint.
- legit App
- Earn extra income
- Weekly payment via PayPal
- Available worldwide
- No minimum threshold
- Get up to $5 bonus for each person you refer
- Low-income potential
- Not a reliable source for consistent income
- Most high paying offers involve video chat
Is Methinks App a scam? No, it is not in our opinion.
Methinks pays far better than most survey sites because most of its projects are done in video format and life chats.
This makes it possible for participants to earn over $20 in some surveys and some projects have even paid over $100 especially those that had to do with live chats.
So yes, you can make up to $100 for successfully completing a gig that you qualify for. The only downside to this platform is that gigs like these are not consistent.
You may be lucky to qualify for one but never get another opportunity like that again because such high paying gigs are very limited.
But looking on the bright side there are other ones you can apply for even if they are not high paying, at least they are way better than the pennies most survey sites pay.
You also need to understand that Methinks won’t provide you with the avenue to earn consistently, as you may not qualify for a handful of gigs or may not even have the high paying offers at all.
You should see it as a way to earn some quick extra bucks and if you are okay with that, then Methinks is worth giving a try.
Methinks Not Your Thing? Try This Instead
Methinks is surely a good and far better way to make money than most apps and survey sites but the truth remains that you can not expect to earn consistent income through it.
So if you are here and you are looking for a great way to earn consistently to either supplement your income, quit your job or gain financial freedom, then methinks is definitely not the way to go.
